Can Robira as an Event Venue: 4 Spaces, Outdoor Areas and Natural Surroundings
Four spaces for private events, corporate gatherings or family celebrations at a rural farmhouse 50 minutes from Barcelona, with a fully equipped kitchen and the option to combine with accommodation.
A farmhouse designed as an event venue
Can Robira is a farmhouse documented since 1285, set within a 3.5-hectare estate in Els Hostalets de Pierola, in the Anoia region. For many years we have welcomed groups for private events, corporate lunches, family celebrations and set formats such as winter calçotades and team away days.
As an event venue, what we offer is an unusual combination: four distinct spaces within the same estate, generous outdoor areas, a fully equipped kitchen, our own natural wine, the option to combine with accommodation, and direct contact with the family to tailor each event to your needs.
This page covers the essential information to help you assess whether the farmhouse suits your event. For operational details, dates and quotes, a call or an email is the easiest next step — every event is different.
The four spaces
Las Cuadras (the stables) is the most versatile indoor space, with capacity for up to 40 guests. It works well for seated meals, presentations, workshops or closed meetings, and is the go-to space for mid-sized groups.
La Capilla (the chapel) is the most intimate and solemn space, with capacity for up to 20 guests. It works particularly well for small meetings, civil ceremonies or more considered presentations.
La Bodega (the cellar) has capacity for up to 20 guests, set among the barrels and the world of wine. It is the natural space for tastings, meals featuring our own produce, or events connected to the winery.
La Bassa (the pond) is the outdoor space, beside the old irrigation pond, with capacity for up to 70 guests. It is the largest space and the option for bigger celebrations in fine weather.
Services and logistics
The farmhouse has a fully equipped kitchen, generous outdoor grounds, on-site parking and the option to combine the event with accommodation. The kitchen can accommodate both external catering and proposals prepared by us — calçotada, closed-menu meals, bespoke options.
For accommodation, we have a tourist apartment for 4 people. A rural house for 12 guests is planned as part of the project's development. If your event requires overnight stays for larger groups, we work with local accommodation partners on a case-by-case basis.
The swimming pool is part of the tourist accommodation, not part of the event offering. It is important to make this clear from the outset so as not to create misleading expectations at events where some guests are not staying at the farmhouse.
The types of event that work best
The formats that fit Can Robira best are mid-sized groups looking to hold a straightforward, well-organised event. Corporate events of 20–50 guests with a set menu, team activities and, sometimes, a wine tasting. Winter calçotades for groups of up to 70 guests. Family celebrations — milestone birthdays, wedding lunches, anniversaries — in an unfussy format.
We also take on smaller, more intimate events: small product launches, team retreats, board or committee meetings, planning days. For these formats, La Capilla and La Bodega work particularly well.
What does not fit: large weddings with more than 70 guests, mass events with heavy technical production, or formats that require the infrastructure of a hotel. The farmhouse is a farmhouse, not a conference centre.
How we approach quotes
We work to a fixed quote wherever possible. Our experience is that events where the client knows exactly what they will pay run more smoothly: there is less friction during the planning process and the day itself is more relaxed.
The quote covers the venue, food (where we are providing it), the agreed drinks package, basic setup and on-the-day service. Additional services — decoration, advanced audiovisuals, specific activities — are agreed as transparent add-ons.
To get started, the easiest approach is a short call or an email with the approximate number of guests, a provisional date and the type of event. We will send a fixed proposal within a few days.

The setting: why place matters
A farmhouse is not simply a place to gather — it is a place with its own identity. Can Robira has been documented since 1285, and the current estate retains the historic threshing floor, the old irrigation pond, the original cellar and many elements that have been carefully restored. Holding an event here is not the same as holding one in a generic function room.
For companies, that identity translates into an event people remember. For family celebrations, it provides a setting that gives the occasion its due weight without forcing anything. The farmhouse provides atmosphere; the team provides the careful logistics to make the experience run smoothly.
We are surrounded by protected natural landscape — the surroundings of the Parc Natural de la Muntanya de Montserrat — and by wine-growing country. That means a simple walk around the estate before the event begins is already part of the experience.
How we work with catering, suppliers and technical production
For groups of up to 70 guests we have well-established relationships with local suppliers: catering, audiovisuals, decoration and photography. If you bring your own suppliers, we integrate them into the planning; if you prefer us to handle it, we can propose a trusted team.
For audiovisuals, we have basic in-house equipment — projector, screen and sound system — sufficient for standard presentations. For more demanding productions (large staging, professional lighting, live performances), we work with external production companies. It is helpful to let us know early so we can coordinate logistics.
For decoration, our recommendation is always to keep things minimal: the farmhouse speaks for itself, and overloading the space detracts from it. For celebrations that require a more visible production, we work with local decorators who know the space well.
Sustainability and respect for the environment
We approach events with a commitment to environmental responsibility: local produce wherever possible, minimal waste and reuse of materials. This is not green marketing — it is consistency with a project that is rooted in this land and has spent years restoring an estate according to those same principles.
For companies with sustainability or responsible procurement policies, this is a meaningful consideration. We can prepare a brief document outlining how we manage waste, suppliers and energy consumption, so that it can feed into your reporting.
The wine served is our own — natural, with no added chemicals or sulphites. Food uses produce from Anoia and the surrounding area wherever possible. Logistics are planned to minimise transport. It is an approach to events that aligns well with the corporate values that are becoming increasingly widespread.
Combining with accommodation: when events benefit from being extended
Some events are considerably enriched when combined with an overnight stay. A company kick-off with dinner the evening before and a session the following morning works very differently from a single-day event. For groups who do not know each other well, that shared evening is worth more than two hours of formal team activity.
For family celebrations — small weddings, milestone anniversaries, extended family gatherings — accommodation means guests travelling from afar do not have to drive after dinner. It is a thoughtful detail that makes a real difference.
We currently have a tourist apartment for 4 people, with a swimming pool and estate grounds. A rural house for 12 guests is planned as part of the project's development. For larger groups, we can coordinate with local accommodation partners when needed.
Frequently asked questions about events
Can a wedding be held at Can Robira?
Yes, on a small or medium scale (up to around 70 guests) and with a considered approach. We do not take on large-scale weddings with heavy technical production.
Is external catering permitted?
Yes. The kitchen is equipped for external caterers to work in. We also have our own proposals if you would prefer us to handle the catering.
How do you manage rain?
We have covered spaces for all groups of up to 70 guests. A contingency plan is built into the planning from the outset.
How far in advance should we book?
For high-season dates (calçotades, spring, summer), two to three months ahead is advisable. Outside peak season, there is more flexibility.
How do I request a quote?
Get in touch with your approximate number of guests, a provisional date and the type of event. We will come back to you with a fixed proposal.
